How We’d Work Together

There’s no single “right” way to work together.

Some people come to me with a very specific project in mind. Others just know something isn’t working and want help figuring out what to do next. Both are normal starting points.

In many cases, the work evolves over time. A project turns into ongoing support. A quick fix turns into a longer conversation about what actually needs attention. What matters is getting clear on what actually needs attention, then handling it in a way that makes progress feel manageable.

Sometimes the role is broader

Not every situation fits neatly into a single project or service.

Some organizations need a go-to digital person. Someone who can help with a mix of things and keep everything moving in the right direction without adding chaos or unnecessary complexity.

In those cases, I work more like a fractional digital lead. I help prioritize what matters, make practical decisions, handle execution where it makes sense, and bring in other specialists when it doesn’t.

This kind of work often includes:

  • Keeping websites updated, reliable, and sane
  • Coordinating email, content, and marketing efforts
  • Supporting events, launches, and campaigns
  • Helping choose and connect the right tools
  • Being the person you call when something digital gets confusing

The goal isn’t to do everything. It’s to make sure the right things get done, without digital work becoming a constant source of stress.

Common ways people start working with me

People usually come to me through one of these starting points, even though the work often evolves from there. This usually comes up when a website no longer reflects the organization behind it. Maybe the business has evolved. Maybe the site feels outdated, hard to manage, or unreliable. Sometimes it technically works, but it doesn’t feel right anymore.

What working together looks like:

  • We talk through goals, constraints, and priorities
  • I help define what the site actually needs to do (and what it doesn’t)
  • I design and build a site that’s clear, usable, and maintainable

This isn’t about bells and whistles. It’s about building something that supports the work you’re doing and doesn’t become a burden six months later.

  • "Casey Dolan Consulting very quickly determined the cause of our issues and made repairs to the site. We were so satisfied with the emergency services that we turned to Casey for hosting and regular maintenance and website hosting. Casey’s services have been such an upgrade."

A few things worth knowing

Before you reach out, here are a few things that tend to matter to people:

  • You’ll work directly with me
  • I’ll tell you when something doesn’t make sense
  • We don’t have to do everything at once
  • My role can be hands-on, advisory, or both
  • It’s okay to start with a conversation

If you’re looking for hype, pressure, or a one-size-fits-all solution, I’m probably not the right fit. If you’re looking for clarity and steady progress, we’ll likely get along just fine.

Let’s talk

If you’re trying to figure out what to do next with your website or marketing, I’m happy to talk it through.

We can look at what’s working, what’s not, and whether it makes sense to work together. No pressure and no sales pitch.
